Yet another black dog
Wednesday night, we had a service make robo-calls to the area with the information about Pugsley. It went out to 5000 people. We did get some possible sightings due to the calls. I will try to update the map with them.
The trap has still been closed due to the weather. We are trying to decide where to go from here.

Chow and the weather
Animal Control came out and set out another trap in an area where the Chow was hanging out and they managed to catch him and take him to the shelter.
Due to the weather this morning, we decided to shut down the trap for today since it would be hard to get out there and check it.
We are considering doing findtoto.com calls to the area shortly in hopes that it can get us some more sightings.

Weekend Update
About 8 people were out flyering on Sunday. We covered two areas that hadn't been heavily covered, but where two sightings had been called in. The latest sighting at the corner of Central Ave. and Tunic was called in just as we were meeting to start flyering. The group of us in four cars headed over to the area and drove around to see if we might be able to spot Pugsley. No luck, but lots more flyers were put out in the area. There is a large wooded area over there, so Pugsley might be hanging out in there.
We still have the traps up. Checked it this morning - it was open and empty.
Lets hope for some better luck this week.

Possible SIGHTING - Eastern and Dix

Caught another black dog - but again, not Pugsley
Animal Control found the owners of the dog who was caught yesterday and he was safely returned home.
No new sightings yesterday. We are being to think Pugsley may no longer be in that area.
This Sunday at 1:00pm, we are going to meet up to do more flyering. We could really use some more help. The plan is to go out and cover the major roads in a 2-3 mile radius around where he was lost and see if we can possibly get a sighting to narrow down the area where he is located. Then we can flyer the neighborhood near that sighting.
Time and Date: Jan. 25th, 2009 at 1pm
Location: 5945 Addison Rd, Capitol Heights, MD
Bring: Warm clothes and a staple gun if you have one - we will have flyers, maps of the area and other accessories
Contact: Denise at terpdive@addr.com or 301-614-9811 if you can help.

We caught a dog - but it wasn't Pugsley
No more cats that I know of in the trap. No new sightings either :(

Cats, Cats, and more Cats
No sightings as of today that I have heard. We are starting to look at possibly hiring some companies to help in our search, since we are having no luck in finding him.
No luck on Tuesday
No luck with the traps yet. Only one cat caught yesterday morning.
Let's hope for better luck today. We are thinking we might need to start flyering further out, so watch for some information on street locations and flyering get-together's soon.

Sunday and Monday update
While out flyering, a number of us talked to some people who say they might have spotted Pugsley. It is sometimes hard to say if it was actually Pugsley or not since he doesn't have any major distinguishing features and there are a couple of other loose black dogs in the area that look similar to him. Pugsley has a collar on, but no tags. Another loose lab/bulldog/pit mix that is in the area and looks a bit like Pugsley does have tags on his collar. Pugsley collar is a brown plaid collar. He has a smushed in face (like a pug) and a curly tail.
On Sunday, we brought a second trap out (the first trap has been set up in the owner’s backyard) and set it up in the woods along a trail that the tracker got a strong hit along. Unfortunately, within half an hour, we had a cat stuck in it. We got the cat out and set it up again, though with the number of cats in the area, we figured it was bound to happen again. And, sure enough, this morning there was an orange cat in the trap and another black cat hanging around trap.
Sunday, we also brought Curley with us. Curley was another stray that was picked up by animal control along with Pugsley. The PGSPCA rescued both of them and we believe that Curley is Pugsley’s father. We had Curley pee all over the trails around the trap and then walked Curley back to Pugsley’s new house. Being a male, he was a good boy and marked all over the place. We are hoping his scent might attract and keep Pugsley in that general area.
Sunday evening at around dusk, I went out and drove in the general area where the tracker thinks Pugsley might be and where some of the sightings have come in (more on that in a minute). No Pugsley, but found 5 cats along with the lab and chow strays that have been hanging out and another loose black chow mix that was hanging out on Dade Street (I think).
I went out this morning before work to drive around as well. I saw a black dog with a curly tail walking down that street that I thought for a moment might be Pugsley, but as I got closer, I saw he had a coat on and no smushed face. I think he might have belonged to a man that was walking on the other side of the road. I also spotted a black Shepard mix wondering in the area where the trap was set. Pugsley owner, who I met up with to help me reset the trap, said he lived in the house whose yard he was hanging out in.
As for sightings, we had three people call in with possible sightings yesterday. I will update the map shortly, but here is the information.
Monday, Jan 19
10:40am – report of him going between homes at 70th Place and 71st Street
4:15pm – report of him at Addison Rd. and 60th Place
4:40pm – report of him at Maryland Park Drive and Coolridge Street

Pugsley is lost
Pugsley, who was recently adopted from the SPCA/Humane Society of Prince George's county, slipped out of his harness while walking on the evening of Jan. 12, 2009 and ran away. He is missing in the Addison Road area of Capitol Heights, MD (Prince Georges county).
Pugsley is a 4 years old, black pug/lab mix and weighs about 40 lbs. He is neutered and microchipped, but he is also skittish and shy.
As of today, there have been no confirmed sightings of Pugsley since he went missing. There was a possible sighting at the corner of Addison and Eads, but there are a couple of other stray/loose black dogs in that area, so we don't know if it was him or not. A dog tracker is coming in tommorrow. We have been flyering the area, but there are a lot of roads and a lot of neighborhoods to cover.
If you see the dog or have any information, please call 240-638-9713 or email pgspcavol@gmail.com.
